Sometimes you meet someone. Someone so significant, so special. Something they say stays with you for years, it becomes a part of you. Sometimes you never see them again. Sometimes you don’t get the chance to tell them. And sometimes you do.
Here’s a thank you, from me to you. Thank you for coming into my life, thank you for teaching me something I didn’t know, thank you for changing my mind. You may have no idea I’m talking to you, but YOU have had an impact on my life. You have changed my life for the better. I don’t always know your name, I don’t always remember the sound of your voice, but I remember how you made me feel and you matter so much.
I’ve had a long week. I’ve been impatient; tired of the people complaining about office space. Tired of the people pushing me on the bus. Tired of the guy who shouted profanities into thin air. So tired of the negativity, the bad news, the chores of daily life. People watching isn’t always a positive experience. You see the worst that humanity has to offer.
But sometimes, in the wake of a week like this one someone shares some joy. On Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn… it hits you smack in the face and reminds you of all the other moments. The moment someone made your day. The moment someone complimented your outfit when you were feeling self conscious. The moment you made someone laugh. The moment someone told you a story that changed your whole outlook on your beliefs.
I am so grateful for the little things you’ve added to my life. I appreciate you, I acknowledge you and I am who I am because of you. Thank you.
