Dear Body,
I appreciate you for allowing me to participate in soccer, dance, badminton, kickboxing, yoga and all the other activities that brought me closer to friends and family.
I appreciate that you still work to keep my alive even when my actions starve you.
I appreciate all the adventures I’ve been able to go on because of you. You allow me to be independent and able to explore the world around me.
I appreciate the way you allow me to rest finding the most comfortable positions to curl up into. You allow me to read books while sitting by a warm fire and feel the soft fur of all the furry friends I have in my life.
I appreciate that you help me to move through the world relating and connecting to the people around me.
I appreciate that you a the perfect mix of all those that came before you. You resemble the my parents and my grandma allowing me to carry them with me in the way you talk, smile and laugh.
I know I haven’t always been kind, but I appreciate you for going through recovery with my despite everything I have said to you in my lowest moments.
You have brought me to this moment and I’m thankful for all you do.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
Love, Sophia
